Dear Friends,
More than halfway through the academic year, school life is moving at a swift and steady pace. As you will read in this issue, students continue to settle back into routines like Meeting for Worship and take great joy in the return to Friends Seminary traditions like the Lunar New Year celebration in Chinatown.
On the staffing front, the School is currently undertaking job searches for key leadership positions. After 33 years of dedicated service Harriet Burnett will step down from her role as Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management in June, as will the Associate Head of School for Teaching and Learning Will Hopkins. The search is also including a new position, Dean of Faculty and Curricular Innovation.
There is great excitement around the opening of the James Turrell Skyspace on the roof of the Townhouse Building, and we look forward to sharing more information about this in the coming days. As always, thank you for your support of Friends and happy reading!
In friendship,
Rebecca Holmes
Director of Major Gifts and Planned Gifts
P.S. Next week the School will be sending a community-wide survey via email. We hope you will participate by sharing your observation and ideas, as well as your perspective on ideas being considered for the future.
