On October 30, the 15th Street Meeting opened its Quaker Library to students, faculty and staff. Meeting member Carmen Hendershott was on hand to welcome guests as they explored the fascinating collection of books, memorabilia and treasures. It was the first time in memory that the Library, located near the lobby of the Meetinghouse, has been accessible to students. Head of School Bo Lauder comments, “We value our relationship with the Meeting and appreciate this special invitation.”

Among the many visitors who took up the opportunity to explore this Quaker resource, were third graders in Courtney Retzler’s class. They especially enjoyed examining old books. Courtney commented, “We study the Lenape People so the book titled “A Lenape Among Quakers: The Life of Hannah Freeman” by Dawn G. Marsh caught their attention.” Students also enjoyed signing the guest book to document their visit.
